Sephora Haul

Hello everyone!

I went shopping for my hubby's birthday and had to get a few things for myself. I found a couple of fun things at Sephora today. I few of these items were on sale, which I think, means that they are on clearance.

I bought a tweezer and case that were in the sale section, it was called the 24K tweezer and it was only $4, so what the heck.. Right? I also got a lip gloss. It has a funky end on it, plastic with little holes in it, the product squishes out of them to apply. I goes on smooth and is pretty much sheer/clear on the lip with a hint of pinky shimmer. I also picked up a nail polish from the OPI Sephora collection. It's dark purple with micro glitter in it. Beautiful effect. It's called "Just A Little Dangerous".

The picture does nothing to show the beauty of this color! It's amazing! Really!

I also picked up a product I have not tried before, It's a Make Up Forever Aqua Cream. The color I picked is "2". It's a deep silver with a hint of warmness. Like a cream form of Urban Decay's Mushroom pressed eye shadow. It's so lovely..

I cannot handle the beauty of that one! It's good.

Anyway, I did pick up one of Sephora's Pro Lesson eye palettes. It has 6 shades and a mini eye liner. I bought it for the deep silver color I am obsessed with. Here's a few photos of packaging and the set itself:

It says it's to make smoky black and smoky brown looks. The colors are rich, very pigmented and gorgeous.

The palette kind of shows you where to apply the makeup. Not as detailed as something you'd get from Too Face or Urban Decay. You can really put the color where ever you like, actually. But if you are new to makeup, this type of guidance may be helpful.

Isn't #2 on the Black Smoky side the most stunning color! Love it! I can't wait to dig in. I'll use my MUFE cream pot under the smoky grey in this set. The other colors will get use, but that #2 is so pretty. This set comes with a small black pencil eyeliner. Very basic, feels like a kohl style eyeliner. It does not set so maybe powder over it if you are going to use it.

That's it for my little Sephora haul. Do you own any of these products? Have you tried anything better? Let me know in the comments section.

Have a good day!

New Beauty Test Tube

Have you tried the Beauty Test Tube? I just ordered one off of QVC last week for $30 plus shipping. Here's the image from QVC:
Received it a couple of days ago. I got three full sized products in with the rest of the deluxe samples. The deluxe samples are pretty large, too.

I received a Tarte Smolder Eyes in black, it's a fat eyeliner pencil that has a smudger on the end. I will be trying this all this week for wear. The color is natural, so if you need a dark inky black, this is not for you. It is smudge resistant a couple of minutes after application.

I also got a full sized Mally Beauty High Shine Liquid Lip. It's color is Starburst. It's a beautiful neutral pink with micro glitters in it, it has a slight fruity-floral scent. Pretty color, not a big fan of glosses, but I'll give it a shot.

I received a full size Julep Nail polish in a pretty coral pink. It's about 2/3 the size of a regular nail polish, but you never go through a full nail polish anyway, right? I'll test for wear and let you know how it goes.

The Test Tube came with Bliss Hand Cream mini, original scent. I did not try this one, I gave it to my kid. He's a hand cream fanatic. Also had Ole Henriksen Truth Cream. This one is a heavier cream, I have tried it the last two nights. It smells orangey and devine. Glides smoothly on the skin. I like it so far, no breakouts or irritation. I received an eye cream called Algenist Eye Balm. I love this one! Very rich and emollient. I have used it the last two nights over my Lancome Genifique Eye Light Pearl serum. I have not tried it during the day since I need a full, flawless face for work. I don't want my eye makeup to slide off mid-day. I'll try it in the AM on my day off. I also got a 2 ounce Philosophy Miracle Worker face wash/mask. It is a very rich version of the original Philosophy Purity Made Simple face wash. So far, I like it. I have no breakouts after two days of use. Not greasy feeling.. Seems good. I received a hair conditioner, too. I have not tried it yet. It's Nick Chavez Volume Conditioner. I will try it soon. My hair has been tangled and hard to comb lately to I do not want to put a texturizer through it.

I also received a sample packette of Fresh face soy cleanser. I threw it out, I don't like those little packettes. Not enough product to make up my mind, so I don't even bother with them any more.

I did get a magazine, too. It's called New Beauty. I love this magazine. I have bought a few copies over the years and enjoy each one. It is a magazine that delves a little deeper into products. What they do, how they do it, what's in them that makes them work, and so on.. I really like that side of the makeup world. So, this magazine is very interesting.

Did you get a Beauty Test Tube? What do you think of yours? Any questions or comments? Leave them for me and I'll get back to you! Hava a fun one!

Mall Of America Haul and Meet & Greet

Hello friends,

Now that the Holidays are winding down I can start blogging again. Retail is tough but exciting! To see all your products dwindle down to just nothing is quite an amazing thing to watch. It's very taxing on your mind and body so it's refreshing when it's finally over.

Anyway, I have had a very rare experience today.. I went to the Mall Of America in Bloomington, MN to meet a very cool Beauty Vlogger and to witness the grand opening of a cosmetic store, their first.

I was invited to go to the meetup on YouTube while watching makeup videos. The Beauty Guru is MakeupByTiffanyD. The store she helped launch today is called Sigma. They are based out of Minneapolis.

I stood in a VERRRRY LONNNNG line to meet Tiffany. She was very sweet. My two sons went with and they were not too happy to be trapped in a busy little makeup store, but they took photos and seemed to enjoy the fact that I was having a blast.

I did pick up a few coveted items from the store. I had my eye on this cool round tipped brush..

It's called the Precision Round. I want to try it to blend my concealer under the eye, it tends to smear off when I use my finger and other brushes seem too flimsy. I think I will like this on a lot.
I also picked up the Defining Eyes Kit, it was put together by the beauty guru TiffanyD herself! How cool. I should have gotten her autograph on it, but I don't think my kids could wait any longer to go shopping in the big mall.

This kit is in a very large box.. It's only downside. This kit has some amazingly pigmented, easily blendable colors that work well together throughout. It also comes with your everything in eye liners. You get two gel liners and a dual ended pencil with amazing color payoff. It also gives a beautiful dual ended brush. A wonderfully soft fluffy shading brush and a super soft pencil brush, one of my favorites in the brand. I usually don't prefer dual ended brushes because of the way I store mine.. Standing upright in a cup. But, if I just keep this brush in the kit, both ends will be fine. It's too pretty to leave in the kit, however. Oh well, I guess you can't have everything!

I did receive a gift bag with two freebies in it, how sweet of them to go all out on us for the grand opening. They gave me a small eye shadow palette and a travel eye shadow blending brush. Very cool, huh?

I did venture out of Sigma Beauty to go to other makeup stores in the mall. They have a gajillion cosmetic stores!

We had to get a few fun things from Lush.

We alway get a few Bath Bombs, they are too good to pass up. We picked Fizzbanger, Avobath and Dragon's Egg. I thought I would try some Tea Tree toner spray and a HUGE chunk of Karma soap. Left there under $50, which was a first.

I also picked up a fresh Blot Powder from Mac. It's my favorite touch up powder. It does a nice job of not building up during my midday touch ups. I prefer colored touch up powders. I've tried others that are colorless, they just don't give me that smidge of added color I need in the middle of the day.

I'm a little on the pale side so my powder looks like a colorless one. It's the lightest Blot Powder color available. It works so great on me.

We also shopped at a few other places, a cool bead store, Apple Store, a French bakery where we loaded up on macarons and coffee. You want to see our devoured macarons, don't you?

We looked at so much stuff! We ate our fill at amazing places, including Bubba Gump's Shrimp Company. Sooo Gooood! We did finish our shopping spree at the candy store called iCandy Sugar Shoppe. The had the biggest gummy bears I ever saw in person! We picked out pineapple gummy bears and clear rock candy on the strings. Love those!

I think that's it for my super fun day at the Mall Of America. If you have any comments or questions, please leave them in the comments! Thanks again!
